1. Before you begin, please make sure that the original Canon ink tank and the compatible ink tank are of the same color. Carefully lift the chip from the empty original Canon ink tank (fig. a). Slide the ship in the slot on the compatible ink tank, as shown in figure b. Please make sure that you position the chip exactly like shown. Press the chip down with your finger to make sure it is seated correctly (fig. c). Place the ink tank in the appropriate slot in your printer.

2. When you start printing, a few dialog boxes will pop up on your monitor, one after the other:

Please just keep clicking �Yes� and �OK� until the following dialog box pops up:

Do not click �Back� or �Cancel printing�!

If your printer has a Paper Feed button press that button and hold it down for five seconds (figure d):

If your printer doesn�t have a Paper Feed button press and release the Stop/Reset button.

If the dialog box as shown in Picture 5 pops up again please press the Paper Feed (or the Stop/Reset button) again.

If the entire procedure is done correctly, a dialog box like this one will pop up:
